Moto-Camping 101
This event is built for riders who want to confidently camp from their motorcycle without overpacking, under-preparing, or turning their bike into a wobbly yard sale on two wheels. Spend a weekend learning the real-world skills our professional guides have learned from hundreds of nights on the trail: how to pack smarter, keep your setup lighter, choose the right gear, stay warm and dry, cook simple meals, manage tools and repairs, and ride more confidently with a loaded motorcycle.
Just as important, this weekend is going to be a blast. We’ll be escaping the desert heat and heading into the cooler climate of Arizona’s White Mountains for a weekend of riding, camping, campfire conversations, and great people. You’ll get time on local trails, hands-on instruction, and the chance to test your setup in a supportive environment with riders who are learning the same skills. You’ll leave with more confidence, better systems, and a clearer understanding of what actually matters when camping off your bike. 100% hand-ons, practical training.
So, are you in?
2026 Dates:
July 24th - 26th
The weekend begins Friday, early afternoon, with arrival at the disclosed camp location, followed by camp setup and our first evening training session. We’ll cover the fundamentals of moto-camping: how to pack your bike, how weight affects handling, what gear is worth bringing, what should stay home, and how to build a simple, reliable camp system.
Saturday includes more training: loaded-bike riding skills, gear discussions, actual trail time on local routes, and practical lessons for staying comfortable on a loaded bike. That evening will consist of camp cooking, tool kits, trail side repairs, and lesson learned from the days ride.
Sunday is our final day together. After breakfast we'll have a short session on loading the bike correctly and breaking camp efficiently, and concluding with a special guest speaker (to be announced - but if we can pull this off, you'll be impressed). Riding away by 11am at the latest.
This is not a learn-to-ride class; riders should already be competent on their motorcycle. This class is about learning how to travel, camp, and live from your motorcycle with more confidence and a lot less guesswork. Bike sizes are not important, come with whatever legally gets you to camp!
