FAQs
What are the rules?
1. This is a MOTORCYCLE event. Three wheels are acceptable but not four.
2. Scoring is done through the ADV Cannonball mobile app. Navigation can be accomplished by any means but waypoints can only be scored through adv rally.
3. Ride at your own risk. All routes have been ridden and deemed appropriate for this event however, conditions may have changed since waypoints were designated. A satellite communicator is HIGHLY encouraged. There is NO cell coverage in many of the waypoint locations.
4. Be self sufficient. Riders MUST be self sufficient. There is NO support for this event.
5. Win by collecting all the waypoints in Arizona before anyone else. There is no order. You can see other participants progress on the app's leaderboard at all times.

How much does it cost?
The app, the way points, and the GPX file we're providing are our donation to the ADV Community.

Do I need special equipment to participate?
You will need an Apple or Android device running the ADV Cannonball App to record your waypoint finds. Cell service is not required. The app will record "offline" and update when cell service is available. A .GPX file will be emailed to you along with the app token, so you may navigate or plan your route with any device you like. However, waypoints must be recorded by ADV Cannonball App to count for scoring.
Do I get a track or route to follow?
No. The fun of this event is to practice and stretch your navigation skills. The GPX file has only the waypoints on it. How you get to each of those waypoints is up to you.
What's the prize?
Beyond the overwhelming pride of accomplishment, the personal growth, the sunburn, the questionable gas station snacks, and the quiet knowledge that you rode all over Arizona collecting waypoints while lesser mortals were at home pretending yard work counts as adventure?
Beyond the glory of out-navigating your riding buddies, making questionable route decisions, and returning with stories that will definitely get exaggerated over time?
Ok fine — there’s a trophy. An actual real trophy for the first rider to complete it.
It’s small, mildly ridiculous, and absolutely something you’ll want to display where everyone is forced to ask about it.
Second and third place get an azadvtours sticker pack and whatever i've got lying around in the azadvtours office that's kind of cool or useful for adv riders.
