The Burro Malvado Tour

Alright, buckle up buttercup. You're hot stuff on two wheels, huh? You cleaned up your bike, got the latest bolt-on doohickey, maybe even sprung for those fancy Mosko Moto riding pants? Well, bless your heart. It's time to see if that machine of yours, and more importantly YOU, can actually handle something tougher than a Starbucks drive-thru.

Introducing the "Burro Malvado" Tour: Where Your Ego Goes to Die (and Maybe Your Clutch)

Three days of riding. Four nights recovering. Tucson, Arizona. Sounds like a relaxing getaway, right? Wrong. This ain't no scenic Sunday cruise for beginners. The Burro Malvado – that’s Spanish for "Wicked Donkey," and trust us, this tour lives up to the name – is designed to chew you up, spit you out, and leave you questioning every single YouTube tutorial you ever watched.

So, are you in? Or are you going to stick to those nice, graded trails where the biggest challenge is avoiding a rogue tumbleweed? Sign up for the Burro Malvado Tour. We dare you. Just don't come crying to us when your bike is upside down and you're covered in dirt. We’ll help you get upright,  point you in the right direction, and keep on going. You got this… maybe.

2026 Dates:

October 1st - 3rd

November 19th - 21st

That was a lot of talking without saying much up there, huh? Here's the real details:

This tour is for intermediate or advanced riders for a 3 day tour. We base out of Tucson Arizona and run the more challenging and technical roads within a days ride, coming back to Tucson each evening. This gives us some huge advantages:

  1. No carrying extra gear since we'll be back at the same hotel/campsite each evening. We can ride light!
  2. We're not in a hurry to get to the next point. We can take our time, re-ride sections as we choose, and include impromptu practice sessions.
  3. Have you had the food in Tucson?  One of the countries great gastronomy cites. I hope you like Mexican!

Choose Your Own Adventure. This tour is not an all inclusive.

For food and nightly accommodations we will advise you of great options. Some might want to stay at the Ritz, others, Motel 6. Or camp for free on BLM! Each morning we'll have a meeting place to gas up and head to the days trails. In the evening we'll all head to a dinner spot and recap the day and plan for the next day.

The tour is $1950 per rider, and if you book 4 people as a group, we can get the price down to $1750 each.

Is this tour right for me?

From a personality perspective, if you were offended by anything on this page, this tour is not right for you :).

From a skill level perspective, this tour is not fun for beginner level riders or riders that have recently transitioned to off-road riding. The Old West History Tour, Better Than The BDR or even a Custom ADV Tour will be more enjoyable. You don't need to be a superstar rider like Adam Reimann or Chris Birch to enjoy this tour. But you should be comfortable on your bike, and confident riding extended sand, loose rocky sections, short steep climbs and descents, single track, rock gardens, obstacle crossings up to 8", and trails with exposure. Intermediate riders or better! We will ride together safely but will not be race pace.

Ideal bikes are the mid-size ADV bikes; KLR, DR650, Tenere 700, KTM 790 (if yours is still running), KTM 890, Aprillia Toureg, Honda Africa Twin or Transalp. Our main guides will be on a Husky 701and a Tenere 700 if that helps. If you ride a big BMW 1250/1300 or similar, this tour is doable but it will be very challenging at times. There may be things we bypass if you bring a big bike.

Lastly, you need to be ok with the likelihood that your'e going to drop your nice, expensive bike and personal injury is possible. It's not our fault, you chose to follow us and can bypass difficult sections any time you want... so really whatever happens is you're own fault. I think that's how our attorney said I should say it.

I hope you join us - These are our favorite trails that most out-of-towners never really ride.
